Association of Late Deafened Adults (ALDA) - ALDA was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1987. Most of those that gathered there were total strangers who had never met or talked to another deafened person, yet they found themselves wonderfully comfortable with one another. There was an unspoken feeling of understanding and patience with each other's communication difficulties. The marvelous sense of fellowship lasted and led to more social gatherings and self help support groups, which swiftly evolved into the Association of Late Deafened Adults (ALDA). Today, ALDA's membership is international in scope. ALDA works collaboratively with other organizations around the world serving the needs of late deafened people and extends a welcome to everyone, late deafened or not, who supports our goals.

Mental Health Workers Without Borders (MHWWB) is an international organization of activist psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, counselors, and other mental health workers. They primarily deal with the needs of developing countries working on such issues as mental health, human rights, treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation for people labelled with severe mental illness. MHWWB also publishes a manual, 'Coping with Disaster' which is available online in both English/Spanish versions. The manual is for psychosocial interventions in response to natural and man-made disasters. It is structured for professionals, primary health care workers, teachers, etc. in countries without much infrastructure or resources.

Mobility Information Service (MIS) is a non profit organization that provides information to their clients who are drivers over the ages of 16 years old with physical disabilities affecting mobility. The Mobility Information Service is mostly run by volunteers, the majority of whom are themselves disabled and who have a desire to help others overcome their own mobility problems.
