WELCOME

Life at the Creek Cottage is my home site. My name is Keri, I am one of two individuals who - along with our two theraputic companion dogs - have formed a mutual aid household.  The household began in March of 2004, in the town of Albany Oregon USA.

Mission Statement

   The mission of this site is to share information, resources, experience, strength, and hope within the disability community and the greater online community.

  This is a very diverse community, made up of individuals  of all ages and abilities, encompassing both people who are considered disabled and their friends, families and supporters. As such, the use of the site is not restricted and does not require membership or registration.

   Goals

• To promote and encourage self-determination and self-advocacy   for persons with disabilities.

• To provide access to other online resources in keeping with our Mission.

• To promote the use of the computers and the internet, online shopping, and online services  as an adaptive and assistive strategy, a means of self-empowerment and a tool for independent living.

• To enable both the site owner and the site itself to become fully self-supporting.
